A Darkness Strange and Lovely
by Susan Dennard
The first book was decidedly "okay," and this follow-up falls short of even that. The plot is spread thin and relies heavily on the narrator missing obvious things. Every line and detail is hashed and rehashed, so that the big reveals at the end are either not so big or too little too late.
