This story isn’t for everyone. It will make you angry, sad, confused, and even the occasional warmth from happiness, but that all depends on you as the reader.
None of the characters were explicitly likeable to me. 800+ pages guarantees some form of connection and understanding of most of them, but I was more concerned than anything.
I’m still thinking about my full review, but I do want to say that my overall takeaway from this book is that you can’t help everybody, no matter how hard you try.
