Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

5.0

Leslie and I went up to the cabin a few weekends ago, of course each with a bagful of books to read while we were there. But even though I had eight or ten of my own that were crying for attention, and I had no interest in getting involved in yet another faerie series, this lovely book that Les had brought up just grabbed hold of me and I forced me to read it. I was ten pages into it and already loving it, giggling like a school girl while she was screaming obscenities at the book she was reading. We were quite a pair. I just immediately fell in love with this world, the seamless intertwining of the two that made such perfect sense you never felt pulled out of the story to question the reality of any of this pure fantasy. That, dear readers, is talent. I also fell in love with the whole cast of rough around the edges characters surrounding Aislinn our heroine who see's faeries. I quite literally fell in love with the Aislinns human love interest Seth and was irritated with the author when she would leave him out of the story for pages at a time! (tsk, tsk, Melissa! :-)) Over-all it was a fantastic read, well paced, fabulously written, very imaginative and just plain fun! I started in on Ink Exchange but sadly the weekend ended too soon and I had to let her return it to the library. It will have to wait for another day. Highly recommended!
