This is a beautiful story told through vignettes that offer a glimpse into the lives of intricately connected characters whose lives span the centuries. A speculative, sci-fi story that grapples with humanity’s response to a devastating pandemic, the constant threat of climate change, generational trauma, the human ability to adapt and survive, and the threads that tie us together throughout history. This was an emotional, heavy, desolate - yet uplifting, beautiful, and mesmerizing story that has been in the back of my mind since I read it.
