Ooof was this one spicy and it hopped right into it compared to the other Dark Olympus books. I really enjoyed this modern take on Helen of Troy, Achilles and Patroclus. Plopping us back in to Olympus, I continue to enjoy how each book is centering around different characters and POV’s, but has cameos and connections to the previous characters In the series.
I loved the dynamics and motivation between how they all met: the spot to become Ares within Olympus has opened and both Helen and Achilles have something to prove. Meanwhile, sweet Patroclus is there as a steady balance between the two and links both past and present between them all.
Fast paced, full of literal action and setting us up for the next Dark Olympus book, I’m interested to see how the potentially imminent threat to Olympus will play out in the next one.
