I didn’t care for the frame narrative at all. To me, it ruined the beautiful war stories by trying to make the telling more complex than it had to be, so my 4 stars are ignoring the frame which would have dropped it down to a 3.
Definitely a great book for teens and adults which uses some historical figures and accurate historical events from WWI.
