Peter Grant is back! He's gotten a promotion to Detective Constable, and Peter, Nightingale, and the Metropolitan Police are getting ever closer to catching the Faceless Man. The only problem is that the Faceless Man has plans of his own, and they're big ... really big. And Peter has to turn to the last person he wants to for help - Lesley May, his former partner who betrayed him in the worst possible way.

Since this is the 7th book in the series, I've come to expect some things in any Rivers of London story. I always expect to see plenty of dry British humor and snark from Peter, an endlessly amusing cast of characters, surprising plot twists, and amazing action that never fails to have me on the edge of my seat. This book didn't disappoint. I've loved seeing Peter work his way up from bumbling officer in book 1 to being a competent apprentice wizard who is training others and holding his own, and he's definitely grown up a lot along the way. I really enjoyed this book, and want to see what's in store for Peter in the next book!
