With Phoebe’s life in shambles after her husband betrays her and her cat dies, she goes on an impromptu trip to a hotel on her bucket list where she plans to end her life. Upon arriving, she learns she is the only guest that is not part of the wedding that will take place later that week. Her encounters with people in the wedding lead to a new outlook on life, not just for her, but the people she meets as well.
While this book did have some heavy topics (suicide, death of loved ones, cheating), it was a quick and easy read/listen. I appreciated the self-discovery that each of the characters went through. And Phoebe’s journey is a great reminder to live your truths because no one will do that for you.
The storyline was far fetched and predictable but the takeaways about living life to the fullest and living despite the obstacles that come our way was what this book really delivered on.
