A Harmless Little Ruse by Meli Raine
3.0

Set from a different perspective, this book was a vast improvement from the first.

The switch from Lindsay to Drew was a nice change, as his dialogue was a little less chaotic. The romance scenes were vastly improved and I didn’t notice nearly as many grammar errors. As for the plot itself, well that is still progressing super nicely! There is so much going on, so many layers to uncover!

This really could’ve been a longer book/series. She kind of just drops major bombs on you in the mist of some character crisis/building. The author’s finesse leaves a lot to be desired and she’s not really one for foreshadowing. I still find the dialog to be a little unnecessarily long winded at times and tend to skim in spots. But other than that, it’s a really fun mystery/thriller ride!
