Thank you Alice Oseman for writing this book!
This is my first time reading a book that focuses on Asexuality and I finally feel seen! I spent my teenage years trying to fit into a mold I didn't belong in. I have been attracted to guys but they never feel the same way and I almost always get friend zoned and then ghosted.
I related to the main characters struggle of hating clubbing and drinking. I also related to her struggle to socialize and connect with others. She had her small group of friends and they may not have been perfect but they loved each other.
Society and my peers rejecting me made me feel weird for most of my adolescence. I've even had friends walk away from me with no explanation,
I don't know where I fit on the Ace spectrum. There are so many categorizes and specturms. And its a little overwhelming. Honestly I'm not looking for anything romantic right now. I can't get hurt or rejected again. I just want a good group of friends who love me for me and want to hang out and do fun things. I don't know what that makes me but I am looking forward to reading more books on Acesexuality and figuring this out in the near future.
