teawolf 's review for:
Flying Witch, Volume 1
by Chihiro Ishizuka
The art is simple but cute, and I adore the premise... not much really happens, though. Slow pacing in a slice-of-life is fine but there isn't much to get me attached to the characters.
The real dealbreaker here is the localization. It reads like a direct translation from Japanese, not like English. This means most of the dialogue feels stiff and unnatural, and doesn't convey character well. I was really disappointed to read this in a printed manga.
