Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident by Donnie Eichar

4.0

Unsolved mystery fans welcomed.

A Russian hiking group of ten, the Dyatlov Group, left their college, Ural Polytechnic Institute (UPI), with the intent to earn their Grade III hiking certificates. A few days after the groups scheduled return, a family member grows concerned as it is unlike the group to be so far behind schedule. Nine of the hikers will not return.

Donnie Eichar does a fabulous job of jumping from past case files and journal entries of the hikers, to present day as he researches the possible reasons for the nine hikers demises. Eichar is an established documentarian and director. His skills at storytelling kept me captivated and wanting to learn more about the Russain case.

If you are okay with not really knowing what happened, I recommend you pick this up to learn more about the facinating people to embark on this hiking trip in 1959.
