Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

2.0

I feel bad but I kind of hated this book. I was a diehard fan of Clare when I was younger and had read all of the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices so I remember being so excited in high school when the first book of this series came out. I read all the first two books and I really liked the first one but I DNF'd somewhere around the second or third book. Now, almost 5 years later, I decided to pick up the series again. I assumed I quit the series last time because I was too busy to read such long books but now I'm sure it was because the writing. THERE ARE TOO MANY CHARACTERS! Too many plot points. It felt like I was reading three books at once. I kind of hate Julien and did not want to root for him in this book. I had to really force myself to finish this one. I've loved Clare's books in the past and I'm sure I'll love more in the future but I think this series was just not for me because it felt like a chore midway through the second book.
