This is Marlon and Camilla’s book in the Wedpocalypse series and pretty much picks up right where ‘Conquest’ left off, only it’s of course, in the aforementioned characters’ POVs.
I found that I absolutely loved it early in and it got me thinking about my own issues, because the female lead was soo relatable—she’s had to rely on herself and make something out of nothing. She’s never had a strong support system (until now) so once she has one, she’s too afraid to rely on it, go with it, etc. And she’s keeping secrets. It made it SO FUN and of course, packed substance.
Forced proximity.
Roommates to lovers.
Overprotective male lead.
Headstrong female lead with hyper-independence.
Seedy loan shark.
Multiple crime plots.
Extortion.
Secrets.
Protective male lead.
This is both a romance and an action-packed read with crime, mystery, full-on villains and of course a tale of a couple of broken people finding their way. Wholeheartedly recommend.
5 stars.
