REVIEW - For the Wolf 🐺
.
I LOVED this book! It’s definitely in my top five this year. It’s so whimsical, beautiful and magical!
✨
The world she builds is so interesting and unique. With a forest with magic abilities and a evil wolf. The books is a mix of Red Riding Hood and Beauty and the Beast. It’s nothing like I guessed it would be.
✨
It does start off with the basic trope of a princess who has a love interest but doesn’t love him back. (So you know she’ll love the wolf) She is forced to be a sacrifice for the wolf in the forest so maybe he would find favor to return their kings. The beginning is emotional because a sister is losing a sister, a lover is losing his lover, a friend is losing a friend. Her mom knew she would be a sacrifice so she didn’t think of her as a daughter. It’s a lot for poor Red and her family.
✨
The story focuses on the two sisters. Red is willing to be the sacrifice to save her sister from herself, but her sister, Neve, doesn’t want her sister to go. Neve would do anything to get her back. The characters are great! And the love between red and the wolf is a slow-burn but worth it.
