Carrie
by Stephen King
3.5/5
To be honest, if it wasn't for my book club, I would have never read this book. Never ever, because I have never thought of reading S.King and because I thought it was scary. But let me tell you, its not scary at all. For me, personally, it was more an extremely uncomfortable and claustrophobic read. Because I felt sorry for Carrie. Sorry for the way she was raised (religeous fanaticism), sorry for the way she was bullied in school, sorry for an unfortunate turn of the events and kids stupidity. And it felt uncomfortable because it sometimes hurts so much when I see how cruel and toxic kids can be. I think its our assignment as parents to prevent that. To teach them better. To teach them respect and how to treasure and not undermine people differences. Cause in the end, we're all the same, and, as this book shows, you can never know what lies inside
