All the Dead Lie Down
by Kyrie McCauley
I give this one a solid 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed it. I liked the mystery with the supernatural element. It was a creepy concept and there was some gore, but I didn't feel it deeply if you know what I mean. Was not hardcore horror, if that's your thing. It was the perfect amount for me. I was mostly invested in the mystery and the MC pairing. I like the character's personalities and how they supported each other. I did not realize the age before I read. They are highschoolers between junior and senior year. A little young but the relationship was done very tastefully and there was an innocence about it that I appreciated. It was juxtaposed to the awful things they were experiencing around them. The writing was simple and easy to follow. Decent imagery. I liked the dialogue. There was an inconsistency, unless I missed something. Very few typos. I was looking forward to this read and I was not disappointed. I would definitely read more by this author.
