Blizzard by Marie Vingtras

Yeah, it’s about a city kid lost in an Alaskan blizzard, but it’s also about every worst nightmare possible. Sexual abuse, murder, war, PTSD, drug abuse, emotional abuse, abandonment…so much drama packed into such a small book. No loose ends remained and I enjoyed watching everyone’s histories weave together to paint a much bigger picture.

Though completely different themes and a drastically different setting, the story’s presentation reminded me a lot of The Sun Walks Down. There we found an Australian boy lost in a dust storm with the same application of multiple narratives coming together to illustrate a more cohesive perspective of life.
