Moral Compass by Danielle Steel

1.0

I have really mixed feelings about this book, depending on the authors intentions. If Steele was trying to raise awareness for rape and some of the horrible views people held like Joe Russo and Shepard then she certainly did that however there were many times where the writing just felt off and wrong. One clear example being at the beginning when a teacher ‘eyed up’ Vivienne and said how he understood how male students couldn’t resist her, if this was some sort of attempt to show how some teachers were corrupt it surely was executed badly. It also focussed largely on the effects on the boys and the school and in my opinion not of the trauma Vivienne would be likely to face.

In addition, there was constant repetition which was completely unnecessary and a lot of narration which led to some parts feeling almost boring. I found myself counting down until the end of the book. Was a very quick read and not difficult to understand but certainly not a boom id highly recommend people to read.
