SpoilerI feel a little guilty giving this 2 stars. Perhaps it was 2.5. I really loved Payback’s a Witch. The story was fun and captivated my attention. I also found Emmy and Talia’s story believable and their chemistry palpable. That is where From Bad to Cursed fell flat for me. I just didn’t believe Issa and Rowan’s romantic fruition. Something was missing. As the last chapter admits it was also corny. I felt myself cringing at the dialogue throughout which I don’t remember feeling in the first book. Can I also say, what even was their tiff? Were they really each others arch enemies over a work spat? I don’t that felt lacking as well. I don’t think it was a bad book, I did read it through. Perhaps just a case of the first book was better. I loved this universe so much in Payback’s a Witch so I will definitely give Back in a Spell a shot and hopefully it’s brings back the magic for me.
