A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny

3.0

Like it’s predecessor, this Armand Gamache book is a classic, straightforward mystery that is cozy and more light hearted (for a book about a murder lol). Wasn’t able to guess the ending completely which is always a plus with mystery’s but I also think the intense details and vagueness went a little far in this one. I found myself thinking “ok get to the point” and wanting to skip to the end a couple different times. Also one of the characters is described as overweight (to put lightly compared to the authors choice of words) and the way that detail in particular was conveyed in the book was repeatedly really uncomfortable and over the top and unnecessary

I also had not realized that the setting and characters for this series are the same throughout all 17+ books. That is interesting to me and for this 2nd book I think it was fun but I can’t really imagine following the same small, specific, and unique set of characters through that many different mystery plot lines?
