🥂 Funny Story by Emily Henry 🥂

MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After her fiancé, Peter, realizes he’s in love with his childhood best friend Petra, Daphne is left alone in Michigan with no friends or family, but with her dream job, and a new roommate - Petra’s ex, Miles. Miles is the opposite of Daphne, and they mainly avoid each other, until one day when they’re full of emotion, they decide a friendship and a plan to post misleading photos of their adventures together. But maybe they’re not so misleading anymore.

Ugh. I loved this. First - I loved the characters. Miles and Daphne and Julia were so well written and loveable. And I loved their dynamic. I feel like Miles and Daphne had banter and communication like a couple married for a long time at some points. I feel like they really knew each other and I could feel the chemistry and why they fell for each other. I feel like both of these characters really grew by the end of the book and had their own growth and story outside of the romance element. This was obviously one of Daphne’s learnings, and it was portrayed really well. Also f her terrible dad who is much like mine. The writing in this book was also so beautiful, and I think this is one of my favourite Emily Henry books so far. It had the classic witty banter, and emotional storylines while still being funny and lighthearted, and I hope to revisit it again soon!
