"Why the hell did damnation feel so fucking good?"

This is the story of Father Tyler Bell, who has been a priest for three years. He meets Poppy Danforth in the confessional booth, and he finds that he's horny for her... like seriously.

Rating: ★★★

Did I devour this book? Yes, I wanted to finish this in one sitting. Did I think that I would like it? Definitely not. But did I enjoy reading it? Absolutely.

This book has been making rounds in the Kindle PH group, and I finally decided to give it a try. I knew that this book was mainly SMUT, and I was a little worried that it would disappoint, BUT IT DID NOT.

The things that I like

The male perspective. I mean, I don't really think that men think like this, but still, I think Sierra Simone did a good job writing Father Bell's POV. This targets the female market, and I'm not against it being too sexual and favoring the women's psyche.

The smut. Here I thought [b:The Kiss Quotient|36199084|The Kiss Quotient (The Kiss Quotient, #1)|Helen Hoang|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1527983633l/36199084._SX50_.jpg|57828311] is the smuttiest book that I'll ever read. I guess it's already dethroned. I am telling you. THIS BOOK IS INTENSE. The smut is 10/10 all the way. It was WILD. Honestly, I also liked the religious references mentioned in this narrative.

Father Bell. He's a horny person, alright? But the author made it like it was not his only trait. He struggled, and he was challenged, but you know... even with the help of God, he was weak to the sins of the flesh.

Poppy. I honestly feel like her character is one-dimensional as we are mostly focused on Father Bell and his developing obsession with this penitent. Lol. She's THAT girl who has everything. She's the complete package. And honestly, I hated how perfect she was, and her only flaw was she wanted to be treated like a slut? GURL, we're all sluts on the inside, okay? And while it's hot, it's not a character flaw. Still, I like how "we're all sluts on the inside" was kind of represented here.

The things that I DID NOT like

The instant romance? A big no. This is much worse than [b:Reminders of Him|58341222|Reminders of Him|Colleen Hoover|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1627673942l/58341222._SX50_.jpg|69199268]. Honey, you don't love each other. You just want to jump each other's bones. Sure, you have talked about some events in your past, but did you get to know each other? Did you have that space wherein you could genuinely like each other without the sex part? I don't think so. I'm not buying it.

The other conflict, Sterling. The ending? It's kind of plain stupid. I hate it when love stories get disrupted by a simple miscommunication that could have been resolved easily. It's unnecessary! You're putting your characters in an unneeded plot device.

While I love the smut, I hated that the book revolved around it. Around 80% of this book is smut, and Father Bell calling Poppy "little lamb"? Don't get me wrong, the smut was written well. The problem is, it got old after a little while. I started to skip it.

In sum:

Would I recommend this? Of course, I would. I liked this book more than I hated it. It got this charm that would make the readers finish reading it ASAP. I've been on a reading slump, and this book pulled me about 70% out of it.

But seriously keep out of reach of children.

Will I read more of Sierra Simone's book? Hmm... I don't think so at the moment. I think I already have a good grasp of what she can bring into these kinds of books. Unless she would write something with a better plot and storyline, I think I would end my curiosity for her here.
