First I LOVE how this book ended, happy-ish ending, all the bad guys (that we know of) are put away, and it’s leading book 2 to be a “same characters but different storyline” which I love!
Leigh was frustrating at times, she legit says yes to everything! And I get it she’s headstrong and wants answers but holy cow girl you don’t have to do everyone’s bidding lol! But she’s definitely strong FMC material and I can’t wait to see what she does in the next book.I do love her character and she’s put through SO much so the fact she’s willing to do whatever for her people says a lot.
Wilder, this man did not want to stray from the law AT ALL but then he meets Leigh and all of that goes out the window. He and Leigh balanced each other out so well and I love how he tried to stay so strong to his morals and only veered occasionally if it would benefit Leigh and to get answers.
All of the side characters were so good! And I really hope we see them all and their growth in book 2.
I think this book was the perfect length without there being too much “fluff” or “filler” as well as being pretty in depth it definitely earned the 5 stars ESPECIALLY since this is the authors debut novel.
