I enjoyed it, some iffy parts and some places needed more depth and context but I still enjoyed it. So basically he’s running for mayor because his parents were killed by the guy running (his father the old mayor covered it up). She is trying to save her families flowers shop from getting taken over by them. So she decides the enemy of my enemy is my way out because if they don’t win they can’t take over. But the guy she has to work with is the guy she was falling for who changed his mind. To show his commitment and character he needs a girlfriend/fiancé to get the people’s support and who better than the people’s princess.

As the book progresses we get to see why he changed his mind and how his OCD affects him. I wish there was more background on what caused some of his triggers and what happened to set up how his OCD is the way it is. Like we know he’s over protective and wants to know where is is at all times because of what happened with his parents but what cause the food thing and so on. Like does it all just boil down to control? It also didn’t mention what went so horribly wrong with his parents relationship (they were in love) and how his dad’s OCD ruined them because that was why he was so against giving in.

“right up until I remembered that I wouldn’t only be worrying about myself but about her too—something that didn’t end well with my parents.”???

”becoming obsessed with Lily is the last thing I need. Even if she’s everything I want.”

Regardless there were lots of cute moments and romantic scenes.

“And Julian?” He lifts his chin in silent acknowledgment. “There is absolutely nothing you can offer me that would convince me to leave Lily—whether it be money, endorsements, or a guaranteed election victory. So bring up the idea again and I’ll show you what it’s like to be my enemy.”
