The odd duck of the series, in a good way. Criticized for being xenophobic, even racist. There’s certainly an element of otherness equating to wrongness, yet the novel often overcomes these pitfalls in the name of universal love. Lewis writes with the best of intentions. 

Deviates from the fantasy norm of the series. Commendable for that. More fable than allegory.
