After months of leaving this novel untouched on my bookshelf, I finally decided to pick it up.
While I did not enjoy it as much as I did with « Bunny », I still found myself deeply mesmerised by the strange and unnerving atmosphere of « Rouge », morbidly fascinated with the alluring promises offered by the « Maison de Méduse » which quickly revealed themselves to be more poison than salvation.
Honestly, I quite enjoyed the allusion of selling one’s soul for beauty, as the cult of beauty is quite present in our everyday lives, with each product being released promising to give us perfect skin, perfect hair. Which was probably why I could not put this novel down.
