It's hard to determine who this book is meant for. On one hand there is so much gore and disturbing details and subject matter that it feels like it might be a new adult read...on the other hand every single character acts like they are 14 years old. These characters are supposed to be in "college" around 18 years old and they don't want to tell the other person that they like them...unrealistic.

While the ending got me, and I was surprised by the twist I didn't like that we didn't get to solve the mystery with the characters. There was just this special book that nobody could read or crack the code of and then all of a sudden the side character has figured it out off page. Bummer.

This next part might just me a me issue, but I also hated that Lee claimed to be such a friends first kind of guy and then the second it mattered he couldn't get on their side. Frustrating, but someone else might enjoy that.

If you don't think about it too much this could be a fun book. The characters and relationships were fun, and I did enjoy feeling like I was hanging out with them.
