“Fated to the Alien Grump” is the third book in Erin Hale’s sci-fi romance series, Warriors of Tavikh. This was Benham and Maeve’s story, and I have to say it’s my favorite of the series so far!
I thought Hale’s writing in this book was especially spectacular because of the way she portrayed Maeve’s trauma. Maeve has been through a lot, and she has reasons for being terrified of a mate bond.
Yes, Benham has his own trauma, but the difference is that his scars are visible on the outside. What I loved about this book was that Benham didn’t try to make Maeve do things she was uncomfortable with, and he didn’t force her into anything.
Maeve was able to get to know Benham at her own pace, and he did his best to make her feel safe with him and to show her that he would never hurt her. I loved their dynamic, and no spoilers, but I was really happy with the way their story ended.
