The story really builds in the book.   You understand the first book more. The flashbacks, Katherine's diary, and the present are well done and well paced.   

I really feel for Miana and Jorg as well.   I'm so glad Sageous is finished.   I hope this isn't the true finish for Katherine. She really refused to be powerless.  I can't understand why Sageous' goal was.   I'm guessing power and not peace. Otherwise, he would have supported Orrin.  I wonder if Katherine ever learned of Egan's betrayal.
