This was a hard one for me to rate. It took a lot longer to get through this book than the last two as they were just SO GOOD! The Lady of the Lake was more of a finish the story and tie it all together. There were definitely moments throughout the story that made me gasp, cry and stare in shock at the pages in front of me... however, there was (as you'd expect in a final book of its kind) a lot of talk about the war that had been building for the last 4 novels and the politics between the sorcerers/sorceresses and kings/emperors. Those parts were a chore to read but anything to do with the Geralt/Ciri story was captivating. I also struggled with the set up of this novel which was the Nimue/Condawiramurs narration... I understand after finishing the book and doing some googling that this was an important element to Sapowski's storytelling but I found it slow to read. Not my favourite set up... I much preferred Vysogota/Ciri from the last book. All in all an appropriate and interesting ending to the series that I feel has done the overall narrative justice. I also cannot fault Sapowski's storytelling whatsoever, and I think he might be one of the most interesting and captivating authors I've read. All in all, a series I'd recommend to anyone who likes adventure, fantasy and battles!
