Starling House by Alix E. Harrow

4.0

There is something in Alice E Harrow’s writing that is very immersive. It feels like a fairytale, but realistic, human. She writes very simple, but at the same time very emotional and vivid. Very alive. It’s the way that I try to write in as well. A descriptive, loose way with many commas and ands and not quite finished sentences that just sound right when you read them. I think this is her best book yet. It feels a bit more mature, and deals with heavy stuff a bit better than the other two I’ve read from her.
