I'm not a fan of memoirs and autobiographies. I don't really enjoy reading the ghost-written stories of celebrities' childhoods.
I did enjoy this book, however. Probably partly because I'd never heard of Damian Barr before and partly because it is written very well, and captivates the reader like a good novel does.
