Extraordinary X-Men, Volume 2: Apocalypse Wars by Jeff Lemire

3.0

Jeff Lemire starts to actually get into his run now that he’s set up the status quo. In this book, the team gets split up into three groups, and we are introduced to a new, bizarre future (more than one actually), and we get a new take on Apocalypse and his horsemen. It’s all classic X-Men stuff. It’s all a little tired and further proof that something like HoxPox was needed, but it’s enjoyable enough if you’re an X fan. Its Humberto Ramos’s art that really elevates it to something actually worth checking out. I have always been a fan of his, but he’s really knocking it out of the park with this run.
