Cress by Marissa Meyer

5.0

My favorite book of the series thus far! I love sweet, adorable Cress and seeing her journey to free herself of her "tower" and join up with the rest of Cinder's crew. I especially love that Cress is so different than the other women we've met thus far. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Cinder and Scarlet as characters, but it's nice to see a woman who is more traditionally feminine and can't do much in a physical fight, but is still a strong character. Her hacking skills are the bomb, and her curiosity and sweet naïvety are so endearing.

*A Bit Spoilery, but Not Really. It's Really Obvious If You Know The Rapunzel Story*

Don't quite know what I think of pairing Cress up with Thorne *cough* Han Solo *cough cough*, but I did enjoy seeing him grow as a character and as a person in this story.

Finally, all our other friends are back in all their goodness. Cinder's learning to use her Lunar powers, Wolf's teaching her, Iko's adorable, and Scarlet...I can't really tell you what she's doing, due to spoilers. And everyone's trying to figure out how to stop the royal wedding so Kai can marry me... I mean Cinder! Or, rather, so he won't marry Levana. Yeah. Yeah, that's it.
