Why must I reside in this cold corner of disappointment.. Seriously one of my most disappointing 2019 reads. I wanted to love this so BAD.
Not gonna lie, I'm a bit conflicted on my rating for this one. The Deathless Girls wasn't bad, I just really didn't much enjoy it. We were promised vampires and Dracula vibes, but didn't get almost any of that. We were promised a good f/f romance, and while there was a sapphic romance, I just didn't find myself connecting to it. And that says a whole lot for me. I feel it's because the characterization was lacking. As was, well, everything else.
Overall, the pacing was messy, the development from characters to world to plot just wasn't doing it for me, and it felt frankly boring. I seem to be in the minority here, so take this all as you will, but I just didn't enjoy my time. Now, I will say I liked how it could be dark at certain points, and the ending was pretty good. The ending hurt my heart a little bit lmao. But this story just wasn't for me!
