The Book Thief
by Markus Zusak
"The Book Thief" has climbed its way to the top of my top ten all time favorites. These characters were so vivid and colorful, which is almost ironic, as the story is told from Death's perspective. It was interesting to read about characters who were Germans and on the "safe side" of the Gestapo. I've read so many World War II books and they were all hard to get through, and this one was just as hard, which is also interesting as these characters were "common Germans" who lived under Hitler's shadow.
Many books have made me tear up, but only four have made me sob gut wrenching sobs and this one was one of them. I say read it and love it. There are just so many fantastic quotes that I'll always remember.
This is a book I will always remember.
