good in the way that it made me miss being in love. to the point i was VERY close to giving up my healing era and diving right into dating and meeting people again. this at points perfectly captured the way it feels when you click with someone for that first time, and the butterflies and joy that come from that. this book also dealt with some very real things that actually get in the way of a relationship - too real at times. as much as i hate third act break ups, this one actually makes sense and i’m glad it happened, as the characters were very much aware that in their current states, as much as they loved each other, they were not good for each other at that current point in time - and this realisation didn’t come from a dumb third act misinterpreted line. it felt very adult in the way it dealt with the themes of
mental health, family, friendships and generational trauma. i’m very appreciative for that.

saying that, it took me FOREVER to finish. it might just be symptomatic of the slump i’m in in general, and it also might be my lack of tolerance for … pure dumbassery, which many-a-time took place in the book.

all in all good ish book which deals with complex themes adequately, but nothing that really changed my life, and also dragged for me.
