The Prince by Sylvain Reynard
5.0

Sylvain’s writing style is poetic. You can always get a feel for a person by how they write, and whenever I read a book written by Sylvain, I always feel like I am with intelligent company. The writing is always believable, beautiful, and captivating. That was true for the Gabriel’s Inferno series and it remains true to this day.

“‘Do you think that you can feel darkness?'”

The Prince is the beginning back story for the Florentine series. It brings both this new series and meshes it in with the Inferno series. We mostly see into The Prince’s thoughts in this novella, and I am all too curious to see where this new series leads us. It sets up the ground-work into how The Prince and the Emerson’s are intertwined, and that we’ll be seeing a lot more of our favorite couple as this new series unfolds. I was pulled into this story immediately, and am very anxious for more–thankfully we don’t have to wait that long for the first installment!

“‘Here is an angel, fallen to earth,’ he whispered, his blue eyes alight with erotic fire.”

As always, Sylvain grabs onto us and takes us into his stories with a fervor that is very rare. We always see both the good and the bad of each of his characters, along with mystery and intrigue. I can tell this series will take us on an action-filled but incredible journey deep into the paranormal world of Italy. Yes, I said paranormal. And it’s going to be great.
