The Crown by Kiera Cass

5.0

Okay story time: I had to put down that book to go to work and it was horrible. I was tired, unfocused and easily to distract, determined to get some rest as soon as I'm home. I didn't, because as soon as my shift was over, I remembered I got to read this book and suddenly I was wide awake and beyond excited.
This book is awesome. It's one of those books you wilingly sacrifice your night's sleep for. It's one of those books you start yelling at, because how dare the characters to do that. It's one of those books leaving you grinning stupidly, because that was surely the sweetest thing you've ever heard. It's one of those books you really want to read the next chapter, because you need to know what's gonna happen, but you still wait five minutes or so to actually start it, because you're so afraid of what might happen. You'll get emotionally invested in this so hard it's ridiculous, but....it's so worth it. This book is awesome, just totally awesome.
The plot: You wouldn't expect much new of the plot. There are Eadlyn and the boys and we all know that concept, it's the fifth book in this series. But...no. I could literally hear Kiera Cass yell "plot twist" as she threw them at me, leaving me totally surprised and awed by their unexpectedness. And this is awesome.
And the characters, let's chat about the characters a little. I started the first book finding Eadlyn annoyingly arrogant, understable but still annoying. But here she is...still definitly not to mess with, but also caring, kind and invested. Still badass, but no longer cold. And the boys, oh the boys. They're all great guys and I wondered quite a while whom to cheer for, because they're all just adorable, but still very unique. And I just love how Maxon and Mer are portrayed, btw. They grew up, they went through very difficult time politicswise and everything and they're still almost annoyigly in love. They're all grown up, but still Maxon and Mer.
So...I know I used the word awesome quite a lot here, but that's because it's the only legit description I can think of. You need to read this book. Seriously.
