Illuminae by Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman

4.0

4.25– A wild ride, and one that was a bit disorienting at first due to its dizzying line up of characters and space ships. Once you get your bearings though, Illuminae becomes an fast-paced, immersive experience that combines the best of sci-fi, zombies, and even adds a touch of romance. Frequently cited as a novel that must be read in its physical format, Illuminae doesn’t disappoint with its illustrations, and innovative text formatting that put the story over the top. Plus, the book adds the icing on the cake with the poetic and philosophical musings of an artificially intelligent spaceship navigation system. *chef’s kiss*
