Ruby Red
by Kerstin Gier
The plot of this book is really unique. The author looked at the concept of time travel from a different perspective which gave the story an amazing storyline.
However, the style of writing was almost as if a middle grader was the one writing it, but keep in mind that it was translated from German, so either the original writing was complicated and the translator didn't do the best job or the original writing itself was very simple.
Another point is that there was some stereotypes in the characters and some of them didn't really have any actual personality, but they were all side-characters and weren't that important. The thing is that some actions of the main characters seemed rather childish or out of place, but I didn't mind it as it didn't greatly affect the story.
I loved the two main characters. The mystery and suspect kept on the edge of my seat, and I can't wait to read the rest of series.
