Things this book wants to be:
* Sexy
* Romantic
*Adventurous
* Feminist

What this book actually is:
* Cheese
* Disappointing
* Unbelievable
* Dull

This is not the palate cleansing, beach read I expected. Aside from being one of the least exciting romances I've ever read, this book is hugely problematic. Though we're led to believe that this book is about female empowerment, the author sadly employs all the tropes of 1970's Harlequin romances: love/hate relationship between the main characters, his flaws (lying, stealing, general asshole-ish behavior) make him more appealing, her success revolves around him rather than on her own merit.

This would certainly have been a DNF if I wasn't so compulsive about finishing everything I start.
