Hamster Princess: Harriet the Invincible by Ursula Vernon
4.0
It's fine as a straight-forward version of Sleeping Beauty, but its real appeal is in the strong female lead character, the tongue-in-cheek asides, and the illustrations -- who knew hamsters could be so expressive?
I'd recommend for kids who may be intimidated by denser chapter books since there are so many illustrations, but it's not quite a graphic novel -- it doesn't have that traditional comic book feel, and the story is mainly told through the text.
