Was this well written? Yes. Am I going to remember it? Probably not. But that’s okay, some books are just about the overall experience of being queer and basically, like the author said, are born from the need of the author to WRITE. Mason captures very well what it’s like to be a teen in therapy.
The romance was ok, but didn’t seem like the main plot point. I was more interested in the sibling guilt and abandonment plot point.
I would have loved to read a book about Mariam, who seems to be a much more interesting person than Ben and the fact that they are best friends seems a tad bit unrealistic.
