Hana Hashimoto, Sixth Violin by Chieri Uegaki

4.0

"Finally, as the last sound effect trailed away, Hana tucked her bow and violin under her arm. 'And that, she said to the audience, 'is how I play the violin.'"

Super cute without being too much. Love the charming illustrations, and the realistic nature of the story. Hana is new to violin, she isn't great at it yet, but she's learning, and it's a worthwhile endeavour. Practicing violin isn't always exciting, sometimes her dog doesn't want to listen to her. Her brothers give her a hard time, but ultimately support her. A bit heavy on text for a story time maybe, and the story is a bit more subtle than I would use for a group, but would definitely display. Lovely.
