 Men Explain Things to Me is a collection of unflinching feminist essays originally published as a collection in 2014 although individually the first was published in 2008. It’s a collection that depressed me because of how little changed in nearly a decade. There was a sense of optimism in more than one essay that some critical juncture had been reached and now violence against women would no longer be tolerated. And while the names may be different the news headlines stubbornly remain the same. Obviously this is the fault of society, not the author.
