The One That Got Away: Women of Horror, Volume 3 by Jill Girardi

challenging dark tense medium-paced

4.0

This took me what feels like 100 years to read. Not because it wasn't good but because I like to take my time with short story collections and read them in small bits here and there.

I enjoyed most of the stories in this collection, with the exception of a few. It was a mixed bag of stories. Some were alien invasions, others reminded me of Wrong Turn or The Purge. I liked how varied the subjects were. Some of my favorites were: Bodiless, The Incident on Asteroid 4 Pandora, Josephine, The Thrill of the Hunt, Liked, Little Sally Ann, and Dear Meat.

I'd recommend picking this up if you're looking for a short story collection you can read at night before bed (perfect time to read horror). It was a good time and I'd be willing to read the other volumes too.
