A dog trainer enlists the help of her mentor's estranged son to search for him when he went missing. Scarred and very independent, she's closed off but has a huge heart. He starts off as a flirty, drifty playboy but soon reveals a protective, loving side. He's attracted to her from start, and wants to be a better person for her, and she opens her heart with his sincerity.

Their romance heats up in the wilderness under life/death situations, and their chemistry and mutual protectiveness is great. I really enjoyed their romance and the intense connection. And the dogs! Norte is adorable, Aleu is a queen, Moonbeam is goofily sweet, and the sassy diva Peanut completely owns me. The adventure and survival elements are pretty good, although the main arc isn't resolved. The MCs have their HEA, however!
