It’s an interesting book - an interesting companion to the main book. I wasn’t rereading 1984 whilst this one, but it certainly had a more solid ending than the original and I did find it overall more interesting from Julia’s perspective.
I got it through the library as an audiobook lend and it was a good background listen overall.
It’s not that it missed the point but it gave me a lot of questions as to how necessary it is as a text. There’s not anything different or new here - even in terms of the ideas.
Would I recommend it? If you really want a companion to read alongside the Orwell classic then I would pass.
